Is this the Best Female Athlete in South Africa?

Way back in 2014, SA School Sports ran an article on a talented young cricketer who had just become the youngest cricketer ever to play against a senior international cricket side.

Back then Malikah Hamza was only ten years old and she had been selected to play for the Western Province Combined Club XI against the Zimbabwe Senior Women’s National team. In that match against Zimbabwe the young 10 year old got her chance to bowl and it was in her second over that she pitched the ball on the off stump and hit the middle stump to clean bowl the Zimbabwe opening bat.

Since then Malikah has grown from strength to strength and has continued to amaze all with her ability not only as a cricketer but also as a hockey player. Having to constantly compete against the boys she knows plenty about how to perform against the toughest competition which has motivated her to be unrelenting in the pursuit of her goals.

Now a 14year old and the captain of the Western Province U16 Girls Cricket team her goals are to become one of the best hockey and cricket players in SA and participate in the junior Olympic Games this year. Will 2018 be her year to become SA’s newest golden girl?

Check out her video. Is this the Best Female Athlete in the country?
