Hockey: Courtney Halle Feature

Courtney Halle has enjoyed a stellar season by anyone’s measure. The Maritzburg College first team defender played a big part in the team’s ranking by as the number one schoolboy hockey side in the country.

Every coach will know that plenty of things can go wrong for your team in a hockey match. Myriad reasons why a match you should win isn’t won.

Oranje meisies played 46 games in 2015, won 44, drew 1 and lost 1. Scoring 235 goals and only conceding 17 goals and in so doing claimed the top spot for yet another year on the SA Schools Hockey Rankings.

Maritzburg College for another year finish the season as the leading hockey team in the country after enjoying a successful campaign in 2015.

With the season all but over we find Maritzburg College for another year claiming the number one spot on the SA Schools Boys Hockey Rankings in what has been a very successful season for the Red, Black and White.

Yet another highly successful Top 8 Tournament hosted by Oranje Meisies brought together some of the leading teams in the country and the high calibre of play resulted in some changes to the SA Schools Top 70 Rankings.

Maritzburg College did what they have done all season and recorded yet another victory to all but secure their spot at the top of the SA Schools Hockey Rankings for 2015.

St Mary’s Waverley, after a string of victories, climb into a well deserved third place on the SA Schools Top 70 rankings and continue to put pressure on the front runners.

Pretoria Boys High were looking forward to the return match against the top team on the SA School Rankings, Maritzburg College with a great deal of anticipation and a chance to add some lustre to their season.
