Pinetown Boys’ High School


Pinetown Boys’ High is a public school located at the foot of Cowies Hill in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.  The School was established in 1978 when the Department of Education made the decision to separate the Pinetown High School into separate Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools.

The School serves the educational needs of the greater Pinetown community and currently has an enrolment of around 800 learners. To realize its vision – Nurturing Fine Young Gentlemen, Pinetown Boys’ High strives to provide a well balanced educational experience to all its learners by running extensive sports, cultural and community service programmes from Grade 8 to Grade 12, while primarily focusing on the Academic programme.

Summary of what PBHS offers: At Pinetown Boys’ High School it is our passion to see young men grow through a balanced learning environment. We aim to do this by providing the best intellectual , physical and social education. In terms of sport at Pinetown Boys’ High School we offer the following : Athletics ,Badminton , Basketball , Chess , Choir , Cricket , Cross Country , Indoor and Outdoor Hockey , Rugby , Soccer , Swimming , Tennis , Water Polo and Volleyball.

Sports Bursaries  : Pinetown Boys’ High School offers sports bursaries to athletes who are excelling in their various sporting codes. These bursaries range 25% up to 100% depending on the level of achievement in their various sporting codes as well as if they have made provincial sports teams .
