The challenge for Maritzburg College could not be more daunting as they host Affies this weekend on Goldstones.

Schools are back in full swing and most of the top rugby teams will be in action this weekend although for many players it has not been much of a break with most involved in Academy and Craven Weeks.

Keagan Boulle is a superstar. Simple as that. A rugby football hybrid; a throwback to the infancy of professional sport in the Southern Hemisphere. He is Jeff Wilson. He is Errol Stewart.

The defeat of the Baby Boks at the hands of England in the IRB Junior World Championship should lead to many questions being asked of the junior structures that we take great pride in.

Cecil Afrika is certainly one of the brightest stars to emerge on the world rugby scene in recent years.

Rugby Preview: College v House

Goldstones will once again host an epic match between two of the oldest rivals in KZN- Maritzburg College v Michaelhouse. Forget about where the teams are ranked this one will always bring out the very best of both sides.

Although we go another week with no change in the top 4 position what is of interest is that Affies have creeped up on Grey and they are only 0.033 points away from overtaking Grey College!

Westville Boys' would have faced KES fully believing that they had the needed depth and skill to put away the Johannesburg side without too much fuss.

KZN Craven Week & Academy Side

A big congratualtions to the KwaZulu-Natal boys who have been selected for the Academy and Craven Week sides.

Science has spent centuries debating the competing theories of nature versus nurture, but the history of South African rugby clearly points in one direction.

Goldstones was the scene of what turned out to be a great game of rugby and an excellent win for the home team who were given a massive challenge by Westville Boys’.

Three seasons ago and Northwood were being hammered by virtually anybody who cared to play them and many were morning the sad demise of one of the great sporting schools of KZN.

Maritzburg College v Westville: If ever there was going to be clash of the titans this weekend in KZN it has got to be the big showdown that will take place on Goldstones at 15h40 on Saturday.

Westville Boy's High continue to make big inroads in KZN rugby and although they are a relatively young school, lacking the traditions of others, they are clearly viewed as one of the front runners in KZN.
