Glenwood Force to Work hard against Campbell

Glenwood were forced to work hard against a determined George Campbell side on Monday, 18 April 2011.

The first half was riddled with errors on both sides and it took some crafty work from Glenwood hooker Jaques Taylor to put the first points on the board. With a maul 5 m out and a very spread Campbell defence Meintjies simply picked the ball up and ran straight to the try line. The try was not converted. After this Glenwood spent the remainder of the half in Campbell territory but couldn't capitalize on some good game play. The second try finally came in the final seconds of the first half when the ball was spread wide and Craig Geldenhuys darted into the corner to score for Glenwood.

Half time score: 10-3 in Glenwoods favour

The second half produced some more running rugby with Glenwood eighth man making some attacking runs. After a couple of set phases Glenwood number 5 Francis Weitz crashed over the line for Glenwoods 3rd try of the match. From then onwards Campbell were mostly in defence with the Glenwood  forwards securing some good ball which showed in the next two tries with flank Wayne Dalton and Lock Ferdi Horn scoring tries in the dying minutes of the game.

Final score

29-3 to Glenwood.
