Maritzburg College V Kearsney: Battle of Botha's Hill

Maritzburg College will be hurting after an epic show-down against KES last weekend which they lost but 28 points to 20 in a war of attrition and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Kearsney on Stott Field in Botha's Hill.

However Kearsney after setting the world alight with some brilliant rugby at the start of the season go into this match on the back of three straight loses and will need to do something dramatic in order to stay in contention with the Top 25 teams.

Key to Kearsney's success this year, which has included some memorable wins against Hilton and Dale College, are the three du Preez brothers who have been sublime this season and once again they will be at the heart of the cause.

Maritzburg College who have accounted for Pretoria Boy's as their major win this year, will travel down the N3 buoyed by the fact that they have enough fire power in their forwards and some exciting backs which can match anything that Kearsney have to offer.

A tough one to call with both sides coming off a couple of close defeats and with a vibrant Kearsney crowd it is going to be a huge effort by College to pull this one off. Still Kearsney are in a bit of a slide at present and we are going to go with a College win but only just.
