School Rugby Results: 14th May, 2011

With the heavy rain in the Free State making playing conditions on many of the fields in that area virtually impossible many matches were postponed. This included the much anticipated top of the table clash between Grey College and Affies which will now by resheduled and will take place on the 16th of June.

Still there was plenty of action with much attention being shifted to the Eastern Cape were Grey High hosted Queen's College in their Derby Day. A massively important match for both sides played out in front of a capacity crowd the majority of which were leaning heavily in favor of the hosts. However Queen's who are known to pick up the tempo on the big match days turned the tables on their hosts and recored what has to be a memorable win for the Queen's players. Only one point seperated they two teams at the end of time but Queen's will take the win and continue their dominance over Grey PE on the rugby field.

Kwazulu-Natal saw Kearsney who having started well this season were going into their match against Maritzburg College on the back of three loses and the boy's from Pietermaritzburg might have taken it for granted that the maroon clad players from Kearsney would just roll over. However Kearsney seemed inspired as the recaptured their early season form to run out comfortable victors at the end. It keeps their goal of being the top side in the province alive but there are still some epic matches to be played.
