Written by  JacoJ ansen van Rensburg

What a Game

The first team game at Pearson High School turned out to be a cracker as expected with both schools being ranked in the top 40 in South Africa , The game started and Pearson Dominated most of the first half with great carries  by a powerhouse pack .

This lead to two Penalties by fullback Nico Burden and Pearson went up 6-0. A concentration laps in defence led to Nico Malan scoring their first try with  a brilliant  run by centre Selvyn Davis dotting down in the corner.

What looked like a try against the upright for Pearson lock Linden Gordon was disallowed because of no clear evidence of the ball being grounded , could have been a healthy lead for the lads from Jenvey road however Pearson hit back just before half time with a try by strong running inside centre Siwa Mandlake to make the score 13-10 in Pearson’s favour at half time.

The second half was a yo – yo battle between two top sides  but at the end an interception by Nico Malan rounded off by speedy Selvyn Davis was the difference bringing the  score to Nico Malan 20 Pearson 13 at full time.
