Free State (6)

Grey College start their season with earnest when they take on Menlo Park this weekend in what should present a slightly stronger opposition from their warm up matches.

As to be expected Grey College dominates the selection of the Free State Craven Week side as they have done for decades.

Rugby Preview: Grey College v Boishaai

Boishaai v Grey College: After last week's washed out matches Grey College will without doubt have enjoyed a much needed rest after having played top opposition week in and week out.

One look at the Free State Craven Week side for 2010 and you immediately see the dominance of Grey College in the province. In 2009 Grey had 15 out of the 22 selected and this year they have packed the Craven Week side with 18 players!

Inevitably, it's one of the first five questions posed at any introduction. Whether at a varsity, in the workplace or at a braai: "What school did you go to?" In the sub-culture of the athletically-inclined South African male, the response will be met with a concoction of envy and judgment with a resumption of the rivalry that once burned inside these men as schoolboys.

SA Schools Rugby Captain

So Craven Week has come to an end. The SA Schools Side is now firmly penned down and despite the witherto's and the whyfor's made by many, we at SA Schools Sports have no doubt that all these boys will do our country proud. They say that football is a game watched by hooligans but played by gentlemen, while rugby is a game played by hooligans and watched by gentlemen.
